Midshipman Fowell wrote these letters to his parents when he was travelling to, and working in, Sydney (1788-9). They cover his time at Sydney Cove, the local Aboriginal peoples, his trip 'around the bottom of the world'; his time at Norfolk Island; his voyage to Batavia, when he died (1790). This edition is well illustrated with contemporary artworks.
This copy is in Very Good condition. There is some minor coloring of the page edges. There is marking and creasing of the top of the dust jacket. There is some minor shelf wear. As always, the photos are of the book you will receive.
