The RAAF Hudson Story, Book One - David Vincent - Hardcover

Regular price $54.95

The RAAF Hudson story explores the history of the Lockheed Hudson aircraft - notable for its role during Second World War. Expertly researched by respected aviation author David Vincent, the extensive findings are split across two volumes: Book One and Book Two.

The first book, Book One, covers the Hudson's usage between 1940-46, starting with the initial procurement during the 1930s. The book details the aircraft's wartime involvement in Far East operations (namely in Malaya, Sumatra and Java); in maritime trade protection roles such as coastal surveillance and as convoy escorts; and in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern operations. One chapter is dedicated to Australian Hudson Training during 1940-45; and another highlights the Hudson's use in providing special transport flights to New Guinea. The non-operational aspects of the aircraft are also explored, including the aircraft's role in undertaking photographic survey work for the RAAF.

This copy is in Very Good condition. There is some very minor coloring and marking of the page edges. There is some very minor shelf wear. As always, the photos are of the book you will receive.
