German soldiers were assigned to thousands of non-combat roles in both conquered territories and within their own borders. Soldiers could be tasked with watching over prisoner of war camps and secret military facilities, as bodyguards for higher command, for run-of-the-mill guard duties and military police roles. In some cases they were taken from the best and brightest, but most were just average men in unexciting jobs. Sometimes, though, even the seemingly most boring role was not necessarily safe.
This sprue includes enough parts to build 6 German sentries, officers, Feldengendarmes (military police), and guard dog handlers. Weapons and equipment include MP40 SMGs, Mauser rifles, Luger pistols, flashlights, and binoculars. Figures can be modeled checking papers, saluting, surrendering, and even smoking a quick cigarette. There are also 2 German Shepherds!
