Unit history book about the 456 Squadron RAAF a rare night fighter squadron, operational over Europe during World War II. Formed in mid-1941, the squadron was in fact the RAAF's only night fighter squadron. Flying Bristol Beaufighter, Bristol Blenheim and de Havilland Mosquito out of British Airfields. During the Invasion of Normandy, the squadron provided air cover for Allied shipping, shooting down 14 German aircraft in the process. Later, it helped defend Britain against V-1 flying bombs, shooting down 24 between June and August 1944.
The appendices include details of the aircraft used by the squadron.
