A Short History of the Naval and Military Operations in Egypt from 1798 to 1802 - Sir John Montagu Burgoyne - Softcover

Regular price $39.95

A modern re-print of a very interesting book about Napoleon's campaign in Egypt.

Originally published in 1885, this is Sir John Montagu Burgoyne's history of military and naval operations in Egypt during Napoleon Bonaparte's campaign in the Ottoman territories between 1798 and 1802.

Inspired by the recent 1882 British conquest of Egypt, the author embarked upon this work to discuss previous military action in the region. With his objective being to recollect 'the military campaigns in Egypt in the days of Bonaparte', Burgoyne discusses the capture of Malta, the strategy of Admiral Nelson, the Battle of Alexandria, and Napoleon's eventual defeat.
